Around 30,000 miles or 48280km translates to about 5.2 Tonnes of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere. Add to that accommodation and my footprint from about 4 months travel is looking to reach around 7 Tonnes. Off setting may well be my only options for this one and at a cost of probably just over NZ$200 that's for sure a cost worth carrying.

Friday evening 13 days before I leave the country and the first entry to what I hope will be a little bit of a taste of what lies behind the photos which I intend to stick up in my photo album of some of the places I see over the next 4-5 months, perhaps longer. Who knows in all honesty? All my well worked though plans could well fall to pieces as a result of some unforeseen events. But I guess that’s why we call them unforeseen.
