Auckland (New Zealand) - While taking a breather from English winter in attending my best mates wedding.

In this age of convenience communications, social networking tools, apathy, laziness and apparent boredom, I am often frustrated by an initiation of correspondence, which demands more from the receiver than the sender.

def. Communicate: impart, transmit, have social dealings with, succeed in conveying information.

This essence of communication by correspondence, which was once necessitated by a letter and in my opinion is now preserved barely and only then on occasion by an email, like a conversation going nowhere, it has vanished into a sea of “how have you been?”s.

If one is genuinely interested and wishes not only to repaint the scaffolding of their rusting social network, like the never ending painting of the Harbour Bridge in dull, flat, grey, perhaps one would offer at least as much effort as is required to “impart, transmit or communicate” certain information beyond that you are.
